Singapore- the perfect city?!??
Singapore....this is....lets call it easy start into Asia from me.
A country which seems to be soooooo perfect if you see it from the superficial side.
Nice buildings, shopping, impressing architecture, a mixture of cultures without any problems, no crime, cleanliness, good weather, party...
all true....buts theres as well a backside...
...theres not everybody living in those 5 star places in the city center...an having the chance to stay at Azams place made me see as well the outskirts....and there the wealth stops...
obviously people are still having a good life over there...but compared to European standards, the houses are quiet...hm...ugly....
at least....Im not used to kilometers of blocks of houses which all look the same....
....
Secondly, behind all those rules (forbidden to do that, that, that)...there are the same things happening as elsewhere (e.g. prostitution)....
Thirdly...theres still a big big difference between cultures...
If you re cocasian, you re the star (earn double as much money, are interesting for all girls)...if youe not...you re just normal....
Do I sound too negative?
Shouldnt be the case....I realy like the city!
But what I really liked about was not the perfectionism, but more the people I met...
1) AZAM and his family- great to get to see the plae from a locals point of view
2) Azams friends....funny YY & Co
3) Jean Charles Salvin...after meeting him in Urugay and France...now in Singapore...next time perhaps on the moon? Or Africa? We ll see!
Anyway, Singapores cool, but unless you re a girl (SHOPPPING) or unless you re interested in a completely easy life (earning good money, flying every weekend to another Asian city)...its not worth the hype of it..at least not for me!
