24 11 07 Lo que pasa

Haven't written for a long time.
7 weeks of working @ Brady.
8 weeks since I left Düren again.
8 busy busy weeks, loads of traveling, moving & building up furniture.
And now it's time for the usual 'hole' Jochen has once he takes time for relaxing.
But...just start at the beginning...
8 weeks ago, just after having partied with Alex & Pierre from JSP first in Düsseldorf, then in Schalke....I packed my stuff into my little black Corsa...and was 'gone' again.
Still sorry for my mum, as it must be even tougher for her to see myself leaving one after another time ....but...even though I felt more than happy finishing up with the waiting for a job...I feel strange as well.
Here we go! Goodbye old place. Welcome new place.
My beliefs weren't shattered...I was going to find an appartment as quick as possible...
So, on a Tuesday morning I made my way down south, direction Darmstadt.
Staying at Sven's place made life easier...and after two days of visiting 15 flats I had received already what I needed.
1) My cold...which was obvious after a bit of too much stress.
2) A fun moment. Life seems soooo simple sometimes. Getting to know Anne while visiting her flat. She should be the person I met most between this day and mid November.

...Taking a Thursday in bed, without having found a flat yes...I went off again.
France, here we are!!
Firstly to Reims, visiting Nicolas...and secondly going to Bar-sur-Aube (Troyes) for Marion & Lionel's wedding. Great to see them and Mikkael again, great to feel that 2 people are really made for each other.
Heading back to Frankfurt on Sunday night to the Marriot hotel, which should be my home place for the next month...
And, Monday morning, 1st October...A NEW LIFE begins. Working for Brady.
Having two weeks of 'inhouse training', getting to know all departments...and then...the real stress ,-) began.
Within the last 5 weeks I have been a bit everywhere.
England, Wales, Belgium (twice), France for training, projects or a 'teambuilding seminar', several exhibitions in Germany (Munich, Jena)...busy busy...
Obviously I started playing soccer in Darmstadt...on the 2nd working day ,-) and...
jipieee....I am now fond of playing finally for the 'right' team for the first time of my life.
Blue and white. 04 !!!
Unfortunately I won't be able to play games before February, but at least the guys are fun...
What else?
Surprisingly, I still say I like work...and this after already 7 weeks....where shall this end!?!?
Jochen likes sth for a period of 7 weeks without feeling bored...AMAZING!!!
...My weekends I mostly spent in IKEA's, buying furniture for my flat which I found in mid-October and moved in begin of November...
Just shortly after this...I celebrated my Housewarming party....and some blokes did the way from far away!!
Thanks to Stephan & Anke, Markus, Sylvain, Andrea, Alexandre, Marc, Maurice, Niklas, Sven, Dennis, my flatmate Bastian and his girlfriend Anne.
Thanks for a great evening!!!

And thanks to my new Singaporean friend Azam who couched my place just one week after...
And now...now my flat is nearly entirely furnished, I'm spending my first relatively calm weekend after 2 months...and the hole is back....The obvious question return.

WHY???? SHOULD I???
I'm thinking of me leaving again and again. Firstly Düren, then Gelsenkirchen, then Surcenord, Gelsen again, then Annecy, then Oxford...for heading 8 months away from all on worldtour, leaving Düren again, Frankfurt, to finally arrive in Darmstadt.
And here , 24 11 07, it is again...the question WHY:
Why can't I stay at a place as most of my 'mates' can?
Why do so few people CARE about me and why is it mostly ME who's thinking of visiting them?
Why do people I really appreciate such as Anne suddenly became indifferent about me?
Why does it hurt so much to be alone?
Will I ever be able to stay friend with sb?
And why the hell am I so careless about Schalke at the moment?

Today, yes, I admit, I'm afraid. Afraid of spending such a New Year's Eve as last year.
Last year I had my 'reveillon dos suenhos' in Florianapolis, alone in a crowd...
Today I would like to have YOU at my side, keeping me in your arms.

TUYO!!!

My first working week

Quiet easy start 'back' into working life.
Only 4 days of working and more 'getting to know' than real work.
All colleagues seem to be easy-going, good news.
As well a good start into 'extracurricular activities':
- Monday: Celebrating the (female soccer) German worldcup victory in Frankfurt city and especially!!!! meeting up Azam, a superbe Indonesian guy I met on the streets

- Tuesday: Visiting some appartments and having a drink with Andrea
- Wednesday: Visiting again some appartments and meeting up Anne, a girl I met while visiting an appartment last week...Schalke won as well,-)
- Thursday: bit boring...nevermind
- Friday: Heading directly after work direction work to Düren, arriving just in time to play the second half time with the second team of my recent Düren soccer club Alemannia Straß (bringing them up from a 0:2 to a 2:2 draw)
- Saturday: Mum's day
- Sunday: Playing soccer with the 1st team of Alemannis Straß, just before heading back to Frankfurt

CRAZY WEEK

Jochen at his best. After a ‘JSP-SCHALKE-party weekend’ I was trying quickly to get things arranged jus before the return to working life.

A Sunday 5:5 !!! farewell soccer game with Alemannia Straß, a Monday on the phone, running around to banks etc..then 2 days of looking for an appartment in Darmstadt, insurance, bank etc….a Thursday ill in bed …and then….jipiieee…
Back to France!!!! An evening with Nico in Reims and then the Saturday to Bar-sur-Aube, a tiny little place close to Troyes (about 2 hours south from Paris) to celebrate Marion& Lionel’s wedding! Great day, great weather, great couple, great party, meeting interesting and funny people…everything great.

Sunday driving ‘home’ to my new home which will be for the next month a hotel in Frankfurt…Now, having had my first two days at work, I’m looking forward to finding a flat to feel ‘entirely’ home in Hessen.

More news soon!!

MY NEW JOB

As I’m not keen on explaining a thousand people in detail my new job, here’s a brief summary.

On Monday I started with the company BRADY on a so called EUROPEAN MANAGEMENT TRAINEE PROGRAM.
Brady is an American company which works in the following sectors:

1) Product, Facility & Safety Identification

a. Performance labels, printers, software, safety & facility identification and lockout/tagout products, personal protective equipment

2) Die-cut solutions

a. Providing solutions and materials (Wärmeleitfolien, Stanzteile)for the mobile handset, consumer electronics, medical, hard disk drive and automotive markets.

3) Printing systems

a. Label design printers, special printers

4) Software

Software products for the automatic identification and data collection marketplace (barcodes, Radio Frequence Systems)

During this program which takes 1 ½ years, I will work on 5 to 6 different projects in different departments of the company (e.g. Marketing, Finance, Logistics).
It involves some regular ‘European meetings’ with the other European trainees ( 1 trainee per country) and working on international projects.

So far, so good…if you’re interested in some more detaily…gimme a call.

Big chaos ?!? That’s ME !!

This is no longer one of my ‘after worldtour’-mails. Since today, ‘after worldtour’ is finished.

There’s no 24hour watching the PC, no trying to write some stupid letters to stupid people, no calling stupid people trying to convince them. There’s no complaining about the lack of social contacts in a place called Düren any more, no staying alone but at the same time being unmotivated to call other people any more.

Despair, frustration, hopelessness, depression have gone. A new life starts. NOW!

In my last worldtourmail, I was writing about the tough months to come. And…even though I expected them to be tough…I was surprised how tough they have been. Fuckin tough!!!

After a June of ‘recovering’, a July & semi-August of negative responses, negative responses and…negative responses…I had to admit myself that my approach of ‘change’ wasn’t realistic. I remember some of the phrases of my last diary mail.

“I don’t want to things I don’t like any more. I want to do the things in which I am good in. I wanna work with people”…

And I still remember all the frustration of people working in this ‘social sector’ who were behaving all…but not social…People who pretended to be in holidays when I called them. People who told me about my mails adressed to the wrong person, although my saved mails clearly reveal that they had been adressed to the right person…

Anyway…I have never worked in Human Resources. But I assume that those guyy must be pretty busy….But I assume as well that 90% of the guys working in HR must be mental wrecks, the worst workers of each company. Sorry for those 10% who are ‘good’ and can explain you why you aren’t invited for an interview…Anyway, just wanted to mention that the ‘social world’ isn’t that ‘social’ as it seemed to me previously…

And then I could quote a) the header “Big chaos ?!? That’s ME !!” and b) once again my last
worldtour diary mail ‘But I know myself way to good. At the end of the day…all will come totally different than I assumed not”…

And I can confirm….my life is just ‘different’ than life of so many ‘easy-path-followers’.

I could have stayed last year in England to continue working with JSP, a job I appreciated to some kind in the end…but which didn’t really fulfilled me….I could have…but….you know…I had some ‘better’ things to do.

And…this world tour has taught me so much. Once again I want to quote my diary.

‘I never want to feel afraid of an interview any more’…’and I never want to be treated that disrespectful as I had been treated buy the department manager in England”

Things have changed. Feels a little bit as if ‘Little Jochen’ has become a ‘Big Jochen’ (no, you don’t have to worry about my weight,-)

‘La positive attitude’ rules even more than before. On va marquer les gens!

And…people got entirely impressed by the power I have shown in the interviews.

And they will be even more impresses by the power I’ll show in real life ,-)

And…real life means….typical hectic for Jochen.

Having signed my contract today, I will start working in 10 days. In a small place close to Darmstadt, which is a town close to FRANKFURT.

Means some kind of organization, looking for an appartment…ans some ‘final partiyng’…first in the ‘Ruhrgebiet’ with some Schalke match involved, secondly in France, for the marriage of one of my best friends…

So…will be a bit hectic the next weeks, so don’t be angry if I don’t’t write…

For those who’re feeling interested, I will update on my new homepage (www.jk-worldwide.blogspot.com )about new adress, new telephone number etc

And…for those who even want to know the job I’ll have and the company I’ll work for…

I’ll leave some annotations on my homepage as well…

Bayern-Schweine!

ova n out 4 t'day

Immer wieder freitags...

Zeitlupenkino. Katharina Franck. K3 Media. Das ist ein Teil von mir. Einen auf dicke Hose machen.
"Eventmanager".
Verstand hin oder her?
